Hall, Jessie (1858-1914/15; English)
Twilight 1901
Watercolour on paper, c. 29.21 x 48.26 cm (11½” x 19”)
Purchased, 1901; de-accessioned and sold at auction, 1950
Unidentified; present location unknown

One of several watercolours bought on the recommendation of the British Royal Academy in 1901 (for a list, see Watercolours – Introduction), this work was auctioned off in October 1950.

Information on the artist and her work are difficult to find; she is not listed by Mallalieu (1976). Reproductions of other examples suggest that she worked in a traditional style.
