This impression, which includes several annotations, is identified by the NGV as a trial proof, and described as a “stipple engraving in the crayon manner.”
The NGV also holds other portrait engravings by Lewis after Lawrence, and several oil portraits by or after Lawrence, all acquired after 1905.
