The SLV lists this work as accessioned in 1929, but it clearly corresponds with the watercolour catalogued in both NGV 1894 and 1905 as acquired in 1891.

Neither the style nor the initials J.T.S. (inscribed to the right of the title at the lower margin) correspond clearly with other known works of the period.
