This work was shown at the 1892 Anglo-Australian Exhibition in Melbourne, according to NGV 1905.

A note in the NGV’s stock-book indicates that it was de-accessioned and “donated to the Melb. Sailors’ Home, Spencer Street, by Order in Council, 4.1.45”, together with Hern Fishing Boats, Rhyl {1892} Loc? [WT].
