This portrait of Bourke, NSW Governor from 1831 to 1837, based on Andrew Moreton’s early 1840s oil portrait in Government House, Sydney, appears to have provided the source for the portrait of Bourke included in the Public Library’s “Oval portrait” series (by Chuck, also from 1874).
