Pugin, Augustus Welby (1812-52; English)
Floriated ornament: a series of thirty-one designs (London: Henry Bohn, 1849)
Purchased 1857
State Library of Victoria [RARESF 729.4 P96]

The plates, showing stylized designs based on natural sources, were intended as patterns to be used as stencils by church designers. Another copy, also held in the SLV, was originally owned by Melbourne architect Leonard Terry (signed and dated 1857).

The chromolithographs were again by M.& N.Hanhart and H.C.Maguire: see also Pugin (A.W.) Ecclesiastical Ornament & Costume 1846 {1857} SLV [IB].
